How Consignment Work

It is the sole responsibility of each consignor to know and understand the expiration date of their contracted items. Home Consign and Design (HCD) does not notify the Consignor of Inventory sold. At 121 days, all inventory becomes the property of HCD regardless of size or value. 

1. All consigned items are owned by the Consignor. 
2. All items will be delivered in clean and ready-to-sell condition. There will be a cleaning and/or repair fee if we need to clean or repair any consigned item(s) with a $50 minimum. 
3. HCD is not responsible for any damage, theft, or loss of items. Make sure your Homeowner’s Insurance policy covers your consigned items. 
4. All sold items will be split 50/50. The split will change to the favor of HCD from 61-120 days. The price will be finalized by HCD upon slower inspection. HCD reserves the right to reevaluate pricing at any time. Gallery Items will have a separate agreement. 
5. HCD will hold initial pricing for the first 30 days of receipt. After 30 days, all items are subject to price reductions, which will affect the Consignor’s earnings. HCD reserves the right to sell each item at our sole discretion. 
6. The contract period is for 120 days. At 121 days, the consigned item(s) become store property regardless of size or value. You may pick up your item(s) before the expiration date. 
7. Payment checks to Consignors will be printed in the 1st week of the following month the item(s) are sold. All payments will be mailed.
